Sodium Sulfite

Sodium Sulfite (Na2 So3) also refers to Sodium Sulfite is a soluble compound of sodium.  Sodium Sulfite is a product of SO2 scrubbing, a part of the flue gas desulphurization process. It is used as a preservative to prevent dried fruit from discoloring and to preserve meat.

Sodium sulfite is a white crystal powder or granule that tastes salty with sulphur odor.  Sodium Sulphite is primarily used in pulp and paper industry. Used in water treatment as an oxygen scavenger agent.  Also it is used in several other applications as ore flotation, oil recovery, food preservatives, boil treatment, iron exchange, fire, pesticide controller, in making dyes, detergents and in textile industries.
